I bought a Wahl plug in model 25+ years ago when I first grew out my beard. It finally gave up the ghost, so I bought this one. This one pulls my beard hairs instead of cutting them, especially on my neck line. The blades are obviously not very good. If you are cutting head hair or lightly trimming a fine beard, I guess it is OK, but to tightly trim a neckline, get ready for some pain. Too bad a fine, old company like Wahl has joined the race to the bottom in quality like so many other companies.

Packaging was the best packaging/boxing for any beard trimmer. It worked great! Rarely cut myself. After a few months of use the top got rusted so it doesn’t work anymore but I use mine like nobody’s business. This is the best trimmer I’ve used.

This isn’t made very well. I have an old Wahl that I bought from HEB that is of much better quality than this. The teeth get caught on hairs and skin. Not very nice to nic your skin and pull hairs while trying to trim. I would not recommend this product. Try going for a better model of Wahl. I will be giving this away and look for one that is closer to the quality of my old one.

My philips norelco stopped working after a year so I decided to try this one. The price is good, build quality is okay (seems a bit cheaper), and it’s not narrow. I don’t think it has as many guards as my old one, as it doesn’t have the normal one I used.

I replaced my old Wahl beard trimmer with this one. Everything is the same except that this one doesn’t work while it’s recharging. It uses up whatever charge has been stored and then stops. That’s a major nuisance when in the middle of a trim. If I’d known about this I’d have gotten something else.

This product is well made and does what I want it to. There are enough trimmer attachments to satisfy anyone. The shaver clips close and well and the battery seems to go forever. I have had the unit for about a month and have yet to charge it. Note: I do not use this everyday. About three times a week. The nose trimmer also performs better than I expected. Quiet and through. Both units are easy to clean and I think will last a long time. Very satisfied!

Beard trimmer works good enough as a cheap product, but the nose hair trimmer literally does not work. It came with no batteries, so when I tried my own AA batteries after opening the back, it still refused to turn on. A lot of other reviews are reporting the same problem. I literally only bought this because it offered same day delivery, so I’d recommend looking for a similar priced bundle if you’re looking for a cheap trimmer + free nose hair trimmer.

From the start the device has given me some trouble;
The battery charger indicator never changes as stated in the manual no matter how long it charges
I had to nearly break the 6 point guide just to get it to slide and operate properly
As a couple of other comments have stated, thus thing will pull your hair more often than not, but it gets the job done.
Looks clean and is easy to clean with the brush, the attachments are easy to attach and remove

This is a nice little kit, but the shaver is loud. For the price, everything works OK. Like all inexpensive shavers, you can easily overwhelm it and it’ll end up pulling instead of trimming…which hurts. So just take it easy and don’t expect to mow the lawn with this thing.

The shaver? Not so much. 48 hours on the charger, and you run out of juice halfway through a trim. And you can’t run it plugged in. So, unless you’re okay with trimming half your beard and waiting a couple of days to finish, I’d stay clear.

The pitch of the sound dropped to a low whine and power of the blades is nearly non-existent. I?? really disappointed because I have another Wahl clipper that?? even older and still works like a champ when corded and is about 8-10 years old. Lost a few attachments though and the battery didn?? hold a charge as well. This replacement is incredibly disappointing for it to break so spectacularly after such little use. Would not recommend.

Be warned! It’s so loud I have to wear ear plugs to trim my sideburns. Not as smooth a shave as the previous model. (The blades on all the new models I’ve tried since last fall seem further off-set than before, or to have a “safety” edge, which prevents direct skin-to-blade contact.) When I switched I immediately noticed the difference, and started having to trim my stubble down everyday, instead of every 2-3 days. Switched back to old trimmer with missing teeth and can’t wait to replace this one.

Well sometimes it’s just a No win with an item and this one is it. I’ve owned a Norelco trimmer for decades and finally broke the guard so I decided it was time to replace. I saw this unit and all it’s trimming attachments etc..+ Wahl been around for a long time. Boy oh boy I opened the fancy box took out the separate nose trimmer (battery operated , – no batteries included) and what I felt was Cheapness only explained as what you felt as a child with a dime store toy. So I opened the next fancy box and well I would say the main trimmer felt better but still kind of cheap and didn’t really fit your hand well Then I got to the trimmer guide attachments ????. I took these look carefully at them and how they attached to Trimmer Blade and said “Absolutely Sending this stuff back”! As bad as the other items these had Breakage written all over them. I took one and snapped it onto blade and then off put everything back into the fancy box’s and created a return for it. Plain and simple I’ve been on this earth for a fairly long time and have a pretty hope that as we progress things should get better. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen as much all for profit reasons usually. Fancy packaging and description is fine if product back’s it up but in this case failure no matter what other reviews state. I won’t state unit I replaced with but immediately it was a home run all the way around at same price bracket. Sorry Wahl

That thing was bought for myself as daily gadget to help maintain my beard in a good shape. It has everything I would like but the thing is it can’t work long enough on one charge so I use almost constantly the adapter that arrived together with it. It can be easily cleaned, has plenty of grooming abilities. It’s lightweight and can be used while you are away but don’t forget the adapter.

It also literally could not have died at a worse time.
I had to go to get my headshots taken today- the photographer couldn?? reschedule and I?? coming up on a deadline. I figured I?? be able to finish shaving half my face before the thing died and I could at least get some decent side profiles. But no. I?? stuck with an absolute nightmare hackjob. My agent is going to cry, and I?? going to be pigeonholed into auditioning only for roles that that center around adolescence & puberty. Maybe if I?? lucky I??l end up in a dermatology commercial or land a role as a sick leper in a period piece. If you know of any roles fitting these descriptions, send them my way. Otherwise- learn from my misfortune and don?? buy these clippers.

I only used this trimmer twice a week, Wednesday Saturday, and charged it once a week, Saturday though Sunday, until August 2021 when I had to start charging after each use. The week before Thanksgiving, I had to start keeping it charging until I intended to use it. I went to use it last night, 11.27.21, and it didn?? work so I plugged back in and and tried to use it this AM ??DEAD! I even moved everything to a different outlet and still DEAD! And, yes the red charging light is or was on. Disappointing!

The 8900 was noisy to me but barely bearable. I measured the db level directly at the nose, since the nose touches the ear a face in use and that’s the place to measure. The 8900 measured 82 db, not great, but 8db under the OSHA mandatory ear protection level of 90db.
This battery unit measures 97db (!). This is 15db louder than the 8900, approximately 3 times the volume of the 8900 and 7db above mandatory hearing protection territory. Totally unacceptable in my world.
The little nose clipper thing measured 71db, which is where I feel all this type of product should be. I almost kept the purchase for just the nose clipper, but just couldn’t.
Returned as defective. I betcha it’s defective by design, hence this review.

I ran clippers 3 times and then they only operated on very slow speed. Left on charger for hours and still same speed. No hairs were obstructing the blades. The casing is all plastic and in my opinion cheaply made. Would expect more from Wahl but companies go with cheap labor and cheap products nowadays, as we all know. I purchased the Remington HC5855 trimmer as well as the ConairMAN MetalCraft High Performance Metal Ear and Nose Hair Trimmer. The Remington is so much better made and quality is excellent so far. The nose trimmer also is great. Satisfied so far with these purchases.

Wahl should be embarrassed to have this product. It sounds worse than a dental drill. Attaching the combs is equivalent to threading a needle. And, the clippers get clogged even with the minimal amount of hair. Last, the blades show signs of rust within 4 days of a wet trim. Keep looking.

It comes with plenty of different sized guides, oil and necessary accessories. It cuts great, without tugging or pulling. I use it on my thick course beard without any problems.
It holds a charge for decades! Maybe not decades, but certainly a long time. Even if I haven’t charged it lately I’ve never had it die or even slow down like some do. It’s pretty easy to clean. I would suggest removing the blades to clean it occasionally and keep the blades oiled.
This thing works so well on my beard that I’m thinking about giving the cat a new do! I let you know how that goes.
