Because I am a vegetarian, none of my tests have involved meat or fish, but it is ideal for cooking vegetables. No more watery mushrooms or oily, mushy courgettes. Aubergines can be cooked without being drenched in oil. Roasting whole aubergines is simple. It’s a lot of fun to roast tomatoes.
MR ANDREW CRETTEN –
I would have given 5 stars for everything if it weren’t for the fact that the surface below, behind, and above the air fryer gets rather warm if you’re cooking for a long period. Cure it easily by placing it on a ceramic tile away from the walls.
Daniel Bond –
These have been around for a while, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get one… typical me!! So, once I’d decided to get one, I read a number of reviews. There were a few bad complaints concerning the metal bubbling, but the most of the reviews were positive. So I chose this one based on its size and ease of usage. I’ve used it every day since it arrived (I have an old gas cooker that I’m sure is about to fail, and I was thinking about buying a new electric oven, but I won’t now). I’m still tinkering with timings and heat settings, but I’ve made almost everything in it, including cakes! Jacket potatoes, oh my!! If the metal does ultimately bubble, so be it… all appliances have their day with everyday use, and I’m confident it will last me a long time if I’m careful with the oils and washing chemicals I use…
barbara edwards –
There’s also a clear plastic cover that fits over the basket’s release button. This came off right away and isn’t going to stay on. It doesn’t appear to make a difference, although it does make it look a little shabby.
Lucie –
I use it on a daily basis and couldn’t be happier. I can make practically anything: breaded foods, roasted foods, reheated foods, and so forth. Chips are fantastic; they taste and look exactly like fried french fries, but with only a smidgeon of the oil. You must first prepare the food in a bowl with salt, pepper, and other herbs or whatever you choose, as well as a teaspoon of oil, toss well, and then pour into an air dryer for 10 minutes at high temperature, stir again, and another 10 minutes, and voilà! Crispy, golden, and mouthwatering. A must-have for any kitchen, and at a terrific price! Recommend by a factor of 10000000% It’s also quite simple to clean. Only be careful with the plastic outside after you’ve finished cooking because it can get rather hot.
victoria daly –
I’ve only had it for a few days and have only used it a few times, but I’m extremely happy with it so far.
MRS CYNTHIA BROOKS –
So simple to prepare and perfect for a fast two-person meal. Chips, roast potatoes, and frozen fish all turn out beautifully.
Tony Stanton –
I found it simple to remove the inner basket for cleaning – but only after it had cooled down because it gets rather hot. In the back, there are vents. The largest in the centre releases hot air that travels a short distance, so keep that in mind, as well as anything else that might be behind the fryer when it’s in operation.
Sobieski –
Pros: – Much healthier alternative to deep frying – Economical (saves money on oil) – No need to defrost; it’s all part of the procedure – Faster than my oven or frying pan – Portable (literally used on my table or anywhere around my house now lol)
Lesley Nock –
Although I am a vegetarian, I can strongly recommend this fryer to anyone looking to eat a little healthier.
Andrew –
It’s also simple to clean. I’ve seen a lot of things that can be cooked in it.
rt3zero –
Overall, I recommend purchasing it. If this size isn’t available, go with the smaller option. This is, without a doubt, an investment, and while my family was initially hesitant, we have all come to appreciate this device.
Nagendra Prakash S –
Overall, this is an excellent product with which I am quite pleased. I’m amazed at how quickly it cooks and how delicious the food tastes. This air fryer comes highly recommended.
John –
The fact that everything is so tidy appeals to me the most. There are no splattered pans. There isn’t any extra oil. It’s simple to clean and store for the next time.
Tianna H. –
It’s easy to use and comprehend; simply set the temperature and timing, and it’ll do the rest. Take 10 minutes or so to read the instructions, which is highly informative and includes cooking recommendations; the results will be well worth it.
Lesley Power –
After you’ve finished cooking, simply remove the basket, wash it in soapy water, and you’re done.
MRS AMANDA J TAYLOR –
I’ve successfully and swiftly cooked a small chunk of meat and tiny birds. For roasts, I like my halogen oven because I can monitor the colour of the meat’s surface while it cooks.
Amber –
I’m glad I decided with the 4.3l because it’s big enough for my husband and me. If you have a family, I would recommend going bigger.
Tony –
It’s rather large… much larger than the photographs suggest! At least, that is how it appears to me. It’s also a touch heavy. As a result, it’s preferable to leave it out on a kitchen unit (which is exactly what I’ll do).
carolyn heaton –
If you’re debating between the Actifry and this, it’s a no-brainer: choose the Tower.
john h cotton –
Plus, it’s perfect for preparing pita breads!
Peter –
In terms of cooking, you’ll get a wonderful golden and crispy result, but toss the chips once or twice during the cooking process to ensure even cooking. I’ve discovered that it cooks chips much faster than the instructions and on the cooker suggest. It indicated it would take about 20 minutes, but I find it cooks them perfectly in less than 10 minutes, which is something I keep in mind.
Ian –
Never had such delectable chicken bits before! Grilling, which had been my primary technique of cooking until recently, was significantly less juicy and tender.
Folashade O. –
It cooks oven meals significantly faster, so you don’t have to wait for the oven to heat up for 10 minutes before starting to cook your food. It’s like receiving a takeaway since the food cooks so much faster, tastes so much better, and the chips and breaded chicken are so much crispier and prettier. This saves me a lot of time and work. I have had no problems with it in the three months that I have had it. When I use it, I pull it away from the wall since it heats up, wait until it cools down, and then place it back on my work area. It doesn’t take up a lot of space and fits neatly on my work surface.
Meena Kumari –
I haven’t used any oil in it yet, but I’m excited to try new things. In any case, I don’t cook a lot of fried food. But, in my opinion, the easiest way to cook chicken and beef with the least amount of mess is to use a pressure cooker.
Jane baker –
It was one of the more affordable ones, but it was well worth the money, and I would strongly suggest it.
Tracey knighton –
The time it took to prepare chunky chips, frozen roasties, and sausage buns was more than cut in half. It’s incredible how rapidly these foods were prepared.
suzy –
Since my initial review, I’ve used it a few more times. I was able to cook two chicken breasts and frozen sausages in it with ease. The cooking time is impressive, as previously, but the taste and texture are not compromised. And instead of four stars, it’s now five.
Sonia Breeze –
I’m not sure where to begin. Well, it’s a fantastic idea and design. Exceptional product in every way. Extremely portable and effective.
Simone –
Produces a pleasant aroma as the food cooks – Extremely easy to clean – Heats up quickly for maximum efficiency – Extremely large, capable of cooking for a full family
Sheran Goddard –
Cons: – Can get very hot, which is harmful around children (if you have children, keep it out of reach) – Timer cannot be switched off; you must wait until it hits zero. Don’t twist it too hard or it’ll break – the button warms up as you try to release it, making it a little more difficult to remove food from.
Roger –
Amazing and well worth the money
Purple Petunia –
I cooked chicken, pastries, chips, fish, ribs, crispy beef, pork chops, and meatballs with this product. Likes: simple to use, uses less energy when simply cooking little amounts. This is something that the entire family uses. Food is quite crunchy.
Phil –
Dislikes: The timer dial can be a hassle to turn since if you crank it too much, you’ll wind up with a longer cooking time and have to remove the basket before the timer stops. You must also wait for the timer to finish; the timer cannot be turned off. It’s also a good idea to lower the temperature by around 10 degrees because food browns before it’s fully cooked and can burn.
peter merrill –
This is fantastic for frying chips (I haven’t tried it for anything else yet), though you should toss the chips and make sure they are well oiled before frying them in the fryer, and toss them once or twice during the frying process to ensure even cooking, but I love this fryer, it’s easy to use and clean, and I do recommend cleaning the basket and tray with the soft side of a sponge, water, and dishwashing liquid after each use, which is fortunately I also found that using a spray bottle for spraying the oil onto the chips was beneficial.
paula makin –
I bought it because I have a combined kitchen/dining room/living area, and cooking stinks up the entire flat. I haven’t been let down! I can prepare meat without leaving a trace of odour. Fish fingers and potato waffles, for example, come out flawlessly and taste better than when I cook them in the oven, and they take a fraction of the time. The other day, I got the cheapest chips from Tesco, and my daughter thought they were just as nice as those from the Chippy!
paul adams –
Cleaning is simple and quick. Everything comes off by dipping the basket and drawer in hot soapy water and wiping them off with a sponge.
Paddy –
The mechanical timer is the only thing I don’t like about it. You probably won’t be able to turn it back if you turn it too far. You might be able to, but I didn’t want to put too much pressure on it and risk breaking it. I turn it on for around 20 minutes and then ask my Google Home to set the timers for me. I might perform a three-minute warm-up, then five minutes, and then another five minutes. The timer will continue to work as long as it is set for a longer period of time than you like. This was purchased prior to receiving my Google Home accessories. I guess I’d get a WiFi one if I bought one now because I’m liking all the voice commands.
Mrs S Stringer –
Edit: I ultimately worked up the nerve to reverse the timer when I had gone too far, and I discovered that it is feasible, thus I retract my previous critique.
Molly –
So I’ve been interested in air fryers for quite some time. I don’t cook much and live alone, but I like the notion of eating healthier. My other half received one for Christmas, and she is using the 11.5 lite to rank work. I was planning on getting a much smaller one, but I was told that the smaller the model, the less you can cook in it.
Mitchell Susan Maung –
I bought it on Thursday, January 27th, and I’ve already used it three times, starting with sausages and chips. I got some decent bagers and cooked them to perfection chips, but they could have done with a little more time and they would have been frys. I then baked some Aldi chunky chips at 200 degrees for 25 minutes, and they turned out perfectly. I’ve also done pizza subs and could do them for a lot less money, but there’s a learning curve involved. However, I was happy with it. Is quick, which is nice because I can be done and dusted and enjoy the rest of the evening; it washes up well; it’s simple to use; no buttons; just select the temperature for the food you want to cook from the list on the top; set the timer; it pings when it’s done, but you have to listen for it. In case I don’t hear it, I usually set my phone to ring at the same moment. Quick to use, easy to clean, and uses less electricity than a regular oven. The only problem is that the 4.3 lite isn’t that big, so don’t expect to cook chicken in it.
Lr Stokes –
I finally fell in to my partner’s wish to get this air fryer after a long discussion about eating nutritious food. It actually worked out, much to my surprise. There won’t be any more fatty chips or sausages. Even the fish and drumsticks turned out to be delicious.
LorraineSkiggs –
The food is more healthier because I don’t need any oil in this fryer. Furthermore, there is no fragrance of boiling oil in the kitchen, which I dislike.
KOREN –
Due to the lockdown and the inclement weather in the United Kingdom, many middle-aged people are unable to exercise. One of the best alternatives is healthy eating, and this air fryer is the ideal alternative.
Cus500 –
I’ve been using this for a few months and it’s quite easy to use. If you’re cooking something, you can pull the aur fryer out to check if the food is cooked or not, and when you put it back in, it automatically starts.
keith –
Flavored is suitable for a variety of products, including fish, poultry, and frozen vegan dishes. However, if you use an air fryer, the flavour of the chips is gone, and the same is true of the broccoli.
julie Daniels –
It’s not easy to clean because you have to fiddle about a little at first to get each unit separated and washable.
Judith coe –
I was sceptical that this would be yet another kitchen gadget I didn’t need, but after reading and hearing so many positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. And I’m happy I did. I use it on a daily basis!
Joseph higginson Customer –
My family now prefers to make oven chips in our air fryer since they are perfectly cooked and taste better than they do in the oven in just 20 minutes. Plus, there’s a lot less time and heat involved.
Jessica L. G. Martins –
The first fryer arrived broken, which I was sad about, but after contacting the seller, I received a replacement along with an apology.
Janet Fabeku –
The Air Fryer is fantastic, and I adore it. There is no dirty oil to clean up after usage, and it cleans up quickly and looks great in my kitchen.
Jack Mulholland –
The cooking results, by the way, are fantastic!
I F Kelly –
It will take some time to get used to oil-free chips, but they are so delicious!
Greg F. –
If you get greasy fingers on the silver-toned area, clean it right away or it will stain!
george harper –
The suggested times and temperature are excellent; however, after a few trials, I have slightly altered the time, just like I would with any other dish.
George –
I would really suggest it!
Emma Melia –
We haven’t been too experimental yet, but everything we’ve attempted cooking in the air fryer has turned out beautifully. Foods that are supposed to be cooked in the oven do exceptionally well in it, and oven sweet potato fries come out much crisper than when we make them in ours. So far, I’ve been really impressed, however Tower has been remiss in not providing you with a brochure of simple recipes to get you started. An additional £12.99 is required for their air fryer recipe book, which is primarily American in nature and contains few European-style dishes.
Dr Bruce. –
I don’t have a lot of extra worktop space, and this takes up a lot of it. It’s far easier, more cost-effective, and faster than turning on the oven for a piece or two, and much less work and healthier than frying. The food fries up well and tastes great. The only significant drawback has been that the lining has started to flake out after three months. I’d like to get at least a year out of this before I have to replace it. Minor drawback: the back vent becomes hot, so you may need to swivel the machine away from cupboards and electrical outlets, among other things. If you live alone or in a couple, this, along with a microwave, toaster, kettle, and a George Foreman, may be all you need.
donna mellan –
The timer knob came off 4 months after purchase and was damaged inside. I called pureelectronix, and they arranged for the fryer to be replaced and returned the next day. Excellent customer service.
Chris Mabbett –
You name it, this device cooks it: nuggets, chips, scampi, salmon, chicken thighs, whole chicken (small/medium), lamb chops, pork chops, and belly porkâ, I haven’t found anything I can’t cook in it yet. It’s also fantastic for warming up sausage rolls, pies, and part-cooked bread rolls.
Chinwe Okolo –
This machine is perfect for one or two people; I bought it for my mother (82), who has grown to love it and is becoming more adventurous every day; I’ve converted three relatives, my sister and two nephews (larger machine), both with children, and this thing cuts cooking time in half; I’m going to buy one for my daughter to take to university with her in September.
cheeky monkey –
Cooking instructions for air fryers are now included with an increasing number of items, and cleanup is simple.
Charles Sanders –
What else can I say but try it, you won’t be disappointed.
catherine.mackin –
I’ve had two of the huge Actifrys, both with loose handles, and Tefal was unhelpful after the warranty expired. Even though we use an air fryer on a daily basis, The second one broke again last week, despite my attempts to replace the handle screws and, when that failed, to glue it. The fact that food like chips kept getting stuck beneath the paddle, as well as the fact that the Actifry costs four times as much, convinced me to go with the Tower.
Brysin Whittled-Bottom Hume –
Due to my cooking troubles, I had to purchase an air fryer, which I will continue to use. This airfryer works perfectly. It’s a good-sized basket that’s simple to use, with only knobs to spin instead of complicated buttons to press. While it used to be a bit of a knack, removing the basket from the main cooking pot is now a breeze. The disadvantage is that you can’t use it without the basket. It’s also not easy to return the timing knob to zero if the food is cooked sooner than expected.
B Morr –
I purchased this after seeing one in use, and it is quite convenient and simple to operate, especially for one or two people. It’s kept on the kitchen counter and is ready to use whenever it’s needed. So far, I’ve prepared fish, chicken pieces, jacket potatoes, and my own cooked and frozen chips. I also purchased the necessary attachments, which included a 7-inch baking and cake tray, as well as two racks, to expand the range of foods that can be cooked in the fryer. I’m still getting used to it, but I wouldn’t want to be without it now. I find it to be faster than my main oven, and I do have to lower the temperature on occasion. Despite the fact that we are only two people, I am considering purchasing a larger one. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it. There were no complaints about the service.
Anne gorman –
Chicken thighs that haven’t been deboned. Layer perfectly cooked after being covered in spice for 20 minutes. Amazingly juicy and crisp.
Andrea Winter –
I debated for a long time whether I actually needed an Air fryer. Everyone seemed to have one, but I wasn’t sure which one to choose.
Penny Wilkin –
It’s not only for chips; I’ve cooked everything from roast chicken to cheese and ham toasted rolls in such a little period. Great product that is well worth the money.
Yasmin –
I use it for chicken, pork, burger meat, fish, chips, cheese on toast, and reheating food, among other things. It’s like having a baker and a fryer in one. It’s really simple to take out and clean the tray, then reinstall it for use. It’s the ideal product for making healthier meals and frying in a hurry. Apart from the luxury appearance, my favourite feature on there is the many temperature settings. Everything about this product appeals to me, and I would purchase it again. It would be an ideal gift for a buddy who enjoys cooking, as well as those who do not. I adore it, every last detail of it.
Mr. G. Alexander –
“Place chips in it” means “place anything in it.”
vrabadia12 –
Let me tell you right now: they were absolutely correct. Chips from a chip shop that have gone cold? restore them to life without the use of a litre of frying oil I’ve made chicken and lamb from scratch and they’ve both been delicious.
Steve Doyle –
Everything is burgers.
Malcolm Ford –
The nicest part is that it cooks food considerably faster than a traditional oven. Guys, you really can’t go wrong here. My only quibble is that I wish there was a way to see the food inside while it was cooking; moreover, you may need to remove the tray and shake the food around to ensure that it cooks evenly.
Peter M –
I wish I had bought one sooner because the air fryer is so useful. If I were to buy an air fryer again, I would get one with a digital timer; manual timers are good for longer cooking times, but not if you only want to cook for 3 or 4 minutes.
bret15 –
(2) This has a capacity of 4.2 litres, which is the smallest size I would get for a single person.
Alana jane –
I’m new to air frying and purchased it to avoid having to heat up a large oven. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money if I couldn’t use it, but this air fryer has beyond my expectations. I microwaved potatoes for 7 minutes, rinsed and dried them, added half a desertspoon of olive oil, shook them, and cooked them for 15 minutes at 180 degrees, shaking halfway through. The roast chicken was cooked to perfection. I’ve also made homemade chips, which were delicious. The best part is that you can make toasted sandwiches in there, which are already a strong favourite! It’s also quite simple to clean.
Alan h. –
I purchased this during a flash sale and have been using it for several months. You know you need to wash it? For all those individuals who stated it bubbles up/rusts/etc. after a few usage, you know you need to wash it? Just because you don’t have to use oil doesn’t mean everything you put in it won’t make it greasy and sticky? I use it 2-4 times a week and clean the basket and bottom after each use. Even though the basket appears to be clean, I promise there will be some buildup in the bottom, so for the love of God, take care of it instead of giving it a one-star rating.
Edina L. –
Okay, this is my first time using an air fryer. A heating element, similar to that of a small oven, is located on top, along with a fan that circulates the air. You can adjust the temperature, and it has an auto-shutoff timer (this isn’t a turn-on-and-forget manner of cooking, though…you must be there to stir and toss the food). It’s just a miniature oven with a fan. If there are only one or two of you and you want to cook chips, chicken thighs/legs, sausages, bacon, and other foods, it makes perfect sense to use a tiny oven instead of turning on your main oven for a handful of chips. The airfryer cooks food more faster than you might think. In about 6 minutes, the bacon was perfect. Can’t were fantastic. The oven turns off when you open the door and turns back on when you close it…which you’ll be doing a lot to toss/turn the chips/meat/etc. to ensure even browning. It’s quite easy to brown the food before it’s fully cooked, so expect some trial and error to get ideal results…all I can say is that it’s totally addictive…because it cooks so quickly…and the food that comes out is completely grease-free…and the flavour is fantastic. If you want your homemade chips and vegetables to be crispy, you’ll need to purchase an oil spray. Bacon and fatty foods can put in and cook in their own fat; however, the fat seeps down onto the tray that supports the basket, leaving them dry. It’s fantastic!! This is a godsend if you’re a student, a single person, or a couple! You may cook exquisite cuisine in it, such as fresh salmon, chicken thighs, chops, veggies, croissants, fish, sausages, meat, and so on, and it tastes fantastic because no flavour is lost.
a.pollard –
I put off purchasing one for a long time and then found it really difficult to select a decision. This, on the other hand, I adore since it’s so straightforward. Two knobs that twist. One is for the temperature, while the other is for the time. One basket that is simple to clean. It’s quite easy to use, and I’ve already created chicken breasts, frozen convenience items, sausages, and potato chips using it. I’m sure there’s more I can do with it. You do have to shake or turn the food halfway through, but I don’t mind because I’m already in the kitchen preparing food. Because of its simplicity, I would recommend this item.
carrievarian –
I’m a convert; it’s fantastic. Food is more moist and not completely dried out, it cooks faster, saving energy and time, and it is really simple to operate. Don’t be put off by the fact that you have to shake it; raising the lid of the Actifry and checking on the meal takes less than 4 seconds. It’s simple to clean, and the nonstick coating is truly nonstick.
B Jeffery –
So far, I’ve used it twice. Once for frozen chips, I threw them in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes and they were done. Wow.
Mrs. Valerie Shepley –
For a long time, I’ve heard that I should acquire an air fryer.
Jigmad –
I wanted to get an air fryer, but there were so many options and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I went to see the Tower and read the reviews, like I normally do, and found both favourable and negative feedback. So I chose to buy this one because you can browse for a long time and still end up ordering none.
MR M –
It’s simple to clean and operate.
