I set it to alert me when temperature or humidity goes out of range, but guess what? This only works when you’re within range of the stupid thing! If I’m already at home I’ll just walk into the other room and check it. The whole point of having an app is to be able to monitor it throughout the day! I gave it 2 stars because it works and seems accurate, but it literally is not functional in the way it needs to be.
ALSO it requires a disgusting amount of permissions to work. Location services? Really? For what?? If it has to be close enough for bluetooth to work then it already knows I’m close by.

I don’t know why I thought this thing would be the size of an iPad Mini, LOL. Look at the product scale compared to the iPhone — that IS the actual size. But it’s fine and unobtrusive and it’s nice to have set up on a mantle or something and not draw too much attention. Setup was easy once I used the app — my iPhone would not connect to it via Bluetooth on it’s own, the app is required to connect it. Though TBH I’m not sure why you *need* this connected to your phone unless you want to set alerts for when the temps exceed your comfort level. Calibration: nothing fancy here, just manual adjustments to go up or down in temp and humidity — but how would I know if this is wrong out of the box? I’m docking points though for the display: unless I’m mistaken, there’s NO backlight on this thing. It’s just a classic black-on-white LED so it’s not like you can read it from across the room; a little backlight illumination would have been nice. Still, for this price point what’s to complain about?

Cool gadget. Not entirely convinced on its accuracy. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and downloading the data works well. I put it in my crawlspace to monitor the temp incase the pipes might freeze. You can set alarms so if the temp gets too low or too high it will let you know.

Got this to monitor temp and humidity in our chicken coop. Temp seems to be working ok, but the humidity is off – reading 93% at 5 in the morning, and pretty much stayed above 90% even when I put the monitor outside of the coop. Current humidity in the area is around 40-50%, it’s in the 40s for temps and chilly here, so clearly not working.

I bought this because my humidor’s built-in hygrometer didn’t seem to every go above 75% even leaving a damp rag in it for over a week. Set this on top of a Boveda 72% humidity pack and it was spot on. Calibrated my analog hygrometer based on this. I like the Bluetooth connectivity with my phone and being able to monitor the history and download logs. Why the app asks for access to my location is beyond me. Makes me think it is reporting home to the CCP or something. I denied location access and it still works, so I’ll keep using it.

This product is useless. it is NOT, waterproof. simple humidity does what it does to electronics – makes it useless.. Less than a week of using it it went haywire. Want to take out the batteries and the inside components are all rusted. And this is coming from a room that has 90% humidity for growing plants.

The temp seems to be accurate and consistent with my other meters, but the Govee is reading the humidity as 30% lower than my others in the same area. This is a huge discrepancy. I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with this unit or if my 3 other meters happen to all be bad. Either way, it’s disturbing given the need for humidity in our ball python enclosure.

Unfortunately this device loses connectivity all the time and have to re-add to app. We have a more expensive Bluetooth device in crawl space to protect from freezing pipes. Always connected! We have 2 thermometers in our SuperC RV. One is in the frig and the other on the counter. Knowing the temp and humidity while we are in the RV and while we are away (via the wifi connection) is proving to be a perfect solution for the two things that impact our comfort while living on the road. The apps ability to track the history makes it easy to compare last month to this month (or yesterday to today). We do some boondocking and once the frig was shut off accidently. It was great to know that the frig was consistently cool during the time it was off. I didn’t have to guess if the food was left at a warm temp for too long of a period. The humidity in an RV can be a problem. So setting the humidity alarm via the app makes it easy to turn fans on if the humidity gets too high after a shower or meal prep.
If the temp or humidity is not calibrated correctly (which ours are), there is an ability to adjust the sensors up or down. Nice is you have another device within viewing distance and you want to coordinate the readings.
The only negative I have experienced is the battery running out. the app does monitor the level but I either missed the alarm or there is no low battery alert.

This was such a great purchase for us to use inside our baby’s crib. We put it right alongside the railing down at the bottom and so far he hasn’t found it. We use it there because his monitor is up high so the temp on the monitor isn’t accurate since heat rises. This connects super easy to both my and my husbands phones and we are able to check it any time. We can even bring it along when we travel, which is really helpful.

The device itself looks nice, the app doesn’t show the temp at the time unless u hover the graph. Other than that it’s a good app HOWEVER the device is very inaccurate! I don’t have another humidity meter to test but the temperature itself is about 10 degrees or more off. U can “calibrate” it in the app but only 5 degrees! I wouldn’t recommend this for serious situation such as bearded dragon / lizard monitoring.

This is exactly what I needed. I had a dehumidifier in my room, and it wasn’t working properly so I took it out and replaced it with my portable air conditioner that is also a dehumidifier. The problem with that was, it does not show me the humidity level in my room like my dehumidifier did. I purchased this and it hooked up immediately to Bluetooth and I use the app because I have other products of this brand so I can see on my phone. Very satisfied!

I bought these to replace the coin cell version (also made by Govee) because those big coin cells are expensive and annoying to purchase.
These are better, because they take regular batteries. I do wish the battery life was a little longer and the app sometimes has trouble pulling data from the sensors but usually works well. It’s nice that you can pull historical data.
I use these for instrument cases where the contents need to be within certain temperature/humidity ranges. Overall, these are great, I’d give them five stars if the battery life was a little better

I bought these for my reptile tanks, they were easy to connect to and the app is easy to use. These would be best for a reptile still adjusting or rack/tubs. Only downfall is that it only updates when you are in range. But still helpful for an easy temp/humidity check when busy.

Worked for a few weeks and then started having accuracy issues. I have two different brands in addition to this, and they each match the temp on my wall clock. The Govee ranges from 10 to 20 degrees higher than the others. I haven’t had much trouble with the Bluetooth, but it isn’t too helpful if the temperature is that far off. Into the trash. Use is in a greenhouse.

I didn’t expect much out of this considering the cost of the simple indoor outdoor thermometer (from a different brand). But this thing is packed full of readings, has very good range for current temp and decent range for transmitting the extended data. It is extremely accurate noting me opening a door to the room for 30 seconds. I definitely would recommend this product, it’s been fantastic and much more than I expected.

I purchased this for my newborns room, I wanted to make sure that the temp/humidity was safe for her. I would say that it is pretty accurate, I have placed another brand in there and they have both had the same reading. I love the large numbers, but I wish it had a backlight. Having the bluetooth option is great but I wish I could peak by head in her room and be able to read it because I don’t always have my phone on me. Other then that I am very happy with it.

This thermo/hygrometer came highly recommended by others for its accuracy. Unfortunately the humidity level is off by 8% and there is no way to calibrate it. I don’t recommend this one. The Cigar Oasis Caliber 4R and the round Hygroset are probably the most accurate. Both are good.

I would ask why a thermometer app needs to know your GPS location to function, but the answer is that it does not. There is no legitimate reason for an app to need to know your location to even run, much less to connect to a bluetooth device.

This is a good little thermometer. I didn’t realize that it was not wifi, so you cannot monitor anything too far. I have a detached tool shed that I converted to a gym that I wanted to monitor, so I bought the other govee thermometer that is wifi. The mobile app is really good though. I am able to monitor both thermometers and see real time readings. I have this one in my bedroom and when I come in from the shower and hang my wet towel, I can see it reading the increased humidity in real time. Pretty cool.

I bought this to work with my Govee Wifi heater. The heater itself does not have a thermostat it is only low, med, high fan speed and shuts down after a set time period to allow for cool down. When you pair this item and the heater in the Govee app, more options appear in the heater section allowing you to set temperature and off or low options when temperature is reached. When temperature drops four degrees below set temperature, the heater will come back on or use a higher fan speed depending on settings. I like this setup because my bed is close to an outside wall and a window, it’s always colder where my bed is than where the heater is setup. The readout on this is easy to read and uses just two AA batteries that come with it, no clue how long the batteries should last but I’d guess most of a year. My only wish would be an illumination button to light up the display, but that’s minor I suppose. I’ve had this running for a couple months in my bedroom, I save on the power bill by only heating the room I spend most of my time in when it’s really cold outside. If you’ve got a heat pump house AC/Heat once it gets under 40 the heat strips kick in and makes the power bill skyrocket (coastal NC saw snow for the first time in 7 years this weekend my power bill is going to thank me for not running the house unit for sure!). This unit can of course be used without the heater unit to simply monitor temperature in the basement or the storage building etc. where you also want a readout. If you don’t need a readout on the device, govee makes a puck unit that does not have a readout just sends temperature and humidity to the app and it can also work to control their heater unit as well. As far as i can tell this is intended for indoor use only don’t think it’s water resistant for outdoor use.

It looks like this product reads the room temperature pretty close with the others. However, the humidity level is always lower than the others. I think 4-5% is a lot of difference and it is not accurate.

The Govee app uses stored data to display graphs of hourly, daily, weekly and monthly temperatures. The app updates itself in a few seconds within Blootooth range. A CSV file can also be downloaded with these values. Accuracy is in the 1-degree ballpark compared with other thermometers. Although not recommended for outdoor use, I placed one of them in my backyard in a dry covered area and it registered daily outdoor temperatures (even during one night when it reached a freezing 27 F here in Texas).

I’m not sure about the accuracy of this thermometer. I have another one set up in my greenhouse and both read different results, for some reason this one reads humidity levels lower (I know it should be higher due to running my humidifier at longer intervals) in contrast with my other one that’s in my greenhouse which reads more accurate. I’m not sure if there’s a possible way to reset the unit to see if it will do the trick cause even the temperature reads a couple degrees lower to my other thermometer. I like how you can access the reads from your phone but not sure how accurate the unit is.

I have 11 Govee Bluetooth thermometers. I particularly like the model 5075 because it uses two inexpensive AAA batteries, which last 7-10 months. I have these units in our refrigerators, one outside in a window, and in our bedrooms. I just bought some of the model 5101’s to monitor the furnace functions – unfortunately, they use CR2450 batteries; though they are smaller and work just as well. I previously bought four of the model 5074’s – they use an expensive CR2477 battery, one of these units has failed, using a battery every week (unit has been retired). Overall, I love the ability to monitor the temperature throughout the house, in the furnace intake/vents, refrigerators and freezers – these will their alarms and 20-day datalogging, and data export feature satisfy my curiosity about refrigerator defrost cycles/power outage freezer temps, Delta-T temperatures through the furnace/AC — these fuel my house system monitoring needs.

Purchased one to try and I could see it was a keeper. Immediately purchased 2 more and calibrated them. Put one on the 1st floor, 2nd floor and basement of the house. It will update all no matter where I am in the house. The Bluetooth works good and the app is all you would want. Great features and the $10 price is unbelievable. The humidity reading is very sensitive and quick. If you pick it up with your hand or exhale near it, it immediately starts to increase the reading. What’s nice is you get an idea of the interaction between the heating system and humidity simultaneously on each floor.

When I received these, I didn’t think they would be as great as they are! We use these in our kids rooms. After reading about parent’s that have lost their children due to temperatures being wrong in their rooms, we wanted something we could always check while they are sleeping. These are amazing. The govee worked for 2 years but this winter I was truggling with the humidity in my cigar humidor. Always reading very wet 85% humidity. That said I broke out my supposedly less accurate analog hygrometer did the salt calibration and found the govee was off by 25% and my analog was off by 2%.
After back and forth with govee support the determined they would not support the refund or replacement of the device but instead offered a 10% discount on another purchase. Yes they are correct I am beyond the 12 month warranty period but sorry I didn’t buy the unit with the understanding that it only had a 2 year life expectancy. Considering that the only thing it ever did was to sit in my humidor I guess I wouldn’t expect it would simply give up the ghost after 2 years.
As my final thoughts i will state this. You would think that if this was a one off situation that the company would stand behind the product and replace it. Then the other possibility is that it is not a one off and they have the issue pretty consistently and if the replaced all products that only lasted 2 years they would go out of businesses pretty fast… Maybe that’s the situation here I don’t know for sure but you can bet I won’t get bit a second time. Oh and by the way I tried adjusting calibration but by the time I reached the required differentiation I was at relative humidity and it wouldn’t allow it.

Got one thinking it could monitor temp and humidity in a bee hive 60 feet from the house. Govee says up to 196 feet. No way, I have to go outside within 30 feet to get connected to my phone. May be good within a house but if I have to get that close, I could read a gauge quicker. Also, had to give govee permission to access my location, browsing history, and access to my phone camera. Going to uninstall this and use it as a plain thermometer hygrometer.

Ordered this for my baby’s nursery and we love it! The nursery ceiling is lower than the rest of the house so it’s a little warmer than what the thermostat reads. Also, baby monitor thermostat is totally off by like 5 degrees. Anyways, baby’s sleep best at 68-72 degrees and we wanted to make sure the environment was perfect so we could get as much sleep as possible lol. This was a great solution!

The app seems so poorly written on iOS at the time I purchased this that phone I installed it on went from hours between one percentage of battery life being drained, to immediately starting to use around 1% per minute (regardless of if I was using the app, or I was out of the app and screen was off in sleep mode), which this also creates consistent heat from cpu which will degrade life of the phone. Even removing it’s permissions to run in the background did not stop this behavior. Eventually had to uninstall the app and restart the phone to stop the seemingly unnecessary battery draining activity.

The bad things: if you plan to use this with the Govee Home App, you will need to be connected to Wi-Fi, to set up the device on your iPhone. If you use cellular data
(like I have to do) you will get a network error in the Govee Home App, when trying to connect the device. Since this is a Bluetooth device, I am at a loss why Govee requires the use of any network, much less a Wi-Fi network, and doesn’t allow the use of the cellular data on your iPhone for set up. The workaround is to take the devices and the iPhone to a public Wi-Fi, set up the devices on your iPhone and return them to your desired location of use.

So, I don’t do very many reviews, I recently got into cigars and have a humidor. Cigars are pretty temperamental and need to stay at a fairly consistant temp and RH ( relative humidity). I got a 5$ hydrometer off of here and it was reading very low, I put in in a zip lock bad with some boveta 72% bags and it read 55%. So I junked it since I could not recalibrate it. I then bought this one, threw it in the bag with the boveda bags and same thing, it read low. Even after a few hours it read 60%. I went into the setting on the app and it has a calibration for both temp and humidity. I know the boveta bags are trusted to be accurate so I left it in the bag with them for about 1-1/2 hours and then adjusted the calibration +4%. I then put the meter in with my cigars and left over night. It’s winter here and my home humidity is about 40% The meter immediately fell down to about 50 when I took it out of the zip lock so I left it on my counter for about 2 minutes and it balanced out at 40% which I felt was accurate. I then put in my humidor and reset the data it saved. Also I’m setting. Very simple. It’s now the following day, and my humidor has been a consistent 70-72 degrees at 68-69.5 % which is pretty perfect. It’s fun to open the app and check lol. And I really like that it keeps the data for days, weeks, months and year. Pretty happy over all. Hope it doesn’t change 🙂

Then a case of postnasal drip and a bedroom vaporizer came into my life and I needed to know more about my air moisture. The Govee makes it easy and reliable. These are ok as far as accuracy, they read about the same as my others. However, if you want these for the Bluetooth connectivity, and more specifically if you’re counting on it for alerts, don’t bother. You have to manually go in and load the Bluetooth data each time, you basically have to be standing right next to it, and sometimes even right after an update it will revert back to showing data from several days ago. So needless to say if you were counting on it to alert you to temps or humidity being off, it’s not gonna happen. Had humidity in one of my enclosures drop down in the 40s (should have gotten an alert at 55%). Never knew until I went in and saw it. Once I updated the app I got the notification that humidity was low, but if it’s not going to let me know until I’m standing right there anyway it’s pretty useless.

I was super excited to receive this… but since I’ve got it set up, it’s telling me it’s 78-80° when it’s really 65° in my apartment… so I’m very disappointed with the accuracy. It’s a nice size and easy to read, so it has that going for it, but the incorrect temperature (by over 10°) makes it worthless to me.

Love the hour, day, week, month and year log for the data.
Another use is to monitor the overnight temperature range when using a wood stove.

It doesn’t appear to be very accurate. I’ve been running it for over a month and I can only use it to get a general idea and the bluetooth doesn’t have very good range, so basically I can only get a general idea of what’s going on if I’m close enough to feel it for myself… pointless. It was cheap tho, so there’s that.

Very nice device, connects seamlessly to my humidifier. Would recommenf checking compatibility first if you intend to link it with you Govee humidifier.

It definitely does what I want it to do. I have it setup in my basement and I can still access the data from the 2nd floor. I am considering buying their smart plugs now as well.

It’s always off by several degrees buy checking it with a known GOOD source of my echo gen 4 hub. Horrible idea of making this priority for the space heater with no thermostat.

I’m using this as a monitor in a guitar case. It’s a little large for that purpose but if it fits its OK. Connectivity is somewhat limited by being inside a case, but seems to work OK if you’re in the same room. The temperature reading seems to be accurate, but I have no way of verifying the humidity so I trust that its reasonably close. I ordered a set of 2 smaller units (GoVee H5074) for 2 of my other guitars. They all seem to work well.

I like that this has a display, I have a few SensorPush modules but they don’t have a display.
This was a bit finicky to setup on my iPhone but I eventually got it to work. It has great data logging features and the app is great for visualisation of trends and events. Like a SensorPush but with a display!

Seems very accurate. The Bluetooth function comes in handy. Use this one in my basement and it makes it easy to check pn the humidity without going back and forth between floors

I’ve got a few of them for my snakes and I love that it’s connected to an app. I can check on them anywhere. Definitely worth buying.
