For something that measures humidity it sure doent like it. A few days in the 90 percentile and it died.

Lost connection when we were on the road for the winter.

Bought for my bedroom and hung on the wall and it just the right size to see but not be bulky on the wall.

I’m using this as a thermostat for a brooder in my duckling “nursery” and works exactly like I want it to. I feel much better knowing the temperature under the heat lamps especially when I’m making adjustments in height as baby ducks cannot regulate their own body temperature and they’re being brooded in my barn rather than inside my house . My babies have stayed warm with no cold stress and I’m able to sleep well instead of stressing about whether they’re too hot or too cold etc.

Great little thermometer that works very well with the appropriate information needed to keep me informed about the environment in my greenhouse. It doesn’t stay connected to my phone because of a metal roof between the greenhouse and the big house. But I can live with it because it gives me the information that I need at the end of the day.

This unit is pretty cool. It writes the humidity and temp in the unit and can upload to the app upon refresh in the app. Connects via bluetooth and has a nice design with a screen that is not illuminated. I use for tracking how humid my room with plants is.
Accuracy is something I would need a high quality instrument to compare against. I noticed that the humidity and temperature vary by at least 2 degrees with another non-bluetooth unit that I had in the room as well.

This device looks really cool and stylish. It tells the accurate room temp, and doesn’t take a huge space on the counter or the wall.
I didn’t connect the bluetooth function as I have no use for it. The price is great too. A happy customer here.

Within 2 degrees F but way off on humidity. There’s a professional weather station a few blocks away and I can see it’s data compared to this thing. Pro station says 80% humidity, this says 74%. Pro says 60°F, this says 60 to 62 back and forth. The accuracy is almost close enough for my uses, but the location permission is complete B.S. Data mining and turning all their sensors into an ad hoc weather network must be their side hustle.
BTW you can’t remotely check the temperature of a device that requires short range communication like Bluetooth. Remote monitoring would require that you leave an i-device or android device near it at all times, possibly with the app open, to ensure data uploads.
Sadly, it’s still more accurate than the 5 different AcuRite temp and humidity gauges that I’ve used in the past.
UPDATE:::
I let it run several more hours and now it’s reading 5°F lower than reality and humidity reads 8% high. During the time in the screenshot the temperature was stable at 60°F and humidity moved up and down from 79% to 81%. This thing has no idea what it’s measuring. What started seeming like it could be okay-ish, quickly went off the rails and cannot be found anywhere within the realm of reason.

This is a great inexpensive thermometer with a pretty good app. I use it to monitor the temperature in my garage, because it’s attached but unheated and I have an un-winterized boat in there that can’t experience below freezing temps. It seems to be within a degree or two of my house thermostat when I tested it. Been working for almost a year with no maintenance, other than to screw the plate into the wall when it fell. Hadn’t used the app in forever, was wondering what would happen if I opened it. It loaded right up, connected to the thermometer and was able to give me historical data dating back a couple weeks. Fantastic.

The short:
Great all-around indoor thermostat/hydrometer.
Small footprint and feature rich.
Intuitive and informative app.
Great purchase. Highly recommended. A lot of bang for the buck here folks. The versatility of the size and the feature packed app has a ton to offer within a simple and easy to use package
The long:
This unit has a small footprint and can be hung on the wall or placed on a flat surface with the included stand. The stand is sturdy and angles the display for better viewing contrast. No back lights, which is a missed opportunity in my view; but the display is big and easy to read in proper lighting. A button in the front allows you to change from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The overall height and weight lend itself to be placed anywhere with very little aesthetic impact to the rest of the room.
The Bluetooth connection is strong. I get full signal to my phone anywhere in my 1200 sq.ft. raised ranch home. The included 3 AAA batteries lasts a long time. I have replaced once set since I purchased the first one in 2019 and have yet to change the set it came with in my second unit in 2021. This model doesn’t offer WIFI, but I don’t miss it at all. I can see the house temperature with my HVAC WIFI thermostat (Waze V1 Review to come!) if I need to know the temp while away. the thermostat saves historical data on board the unit which is an awesome feature I wasn’t expecting. More on that and the app next.
The app is great. There is a lot to explore, and the Trends are impressive. The ability to look at temperature changes over a specific period is a great tool. The trends have tabs for hours, day’s, months, weeks, and years. I did not make the first purchase with any real idea the type of information It provides; but I find it almost indispensable. For example, being able to see my 6-month old’s nursery temperature and humidity in real time, plus having the ability to look at overnight temperatures and humidity changes is pretty cool. The nursery faces south and gets all day sun, the room also gets particularly cold at night. While a couple of degrees wouldn’t make a difference to my 7-year-old; That couple of degrees could make the difference between the baby sleeping until 6:00am or a 3:00AM wake up call. I can set the house thermostat or open a window a crack accordingly. There is an iPhone widget available, and it is a nice feature. Separate widgets can be set up for multiple devices and is easy to read. It can take a couple of seconds to update but an unexpected addition, nonetheless. the app also has other smart devices that you can purchase separately and then connected through the app.
Some other things I use these for:
Indoor herb drying room.
Monitor real time room temperatures in various spots while pellet stove is running or electric heater in below grade playroom.
Checking Attic/basement for temperature/humidity levels to monitor and identify potential mold problems.
Calibrating new thermostats.

I wasn’t sure this would work when I first bought. I needed a way to keep track of how cold my greenhouse was getting on cold winter nights here in central Texas. While it generally stays above freezing, several times in winter we get cold fronts passing through that drops temps down often well below freezing. I wanted to make sure my greenhouse heater was working well so I needed to monitor it during these cold spells. It works so well I was shocked. First you need to download the Govee app to your Apple or Android device, then you need to find you device in the app. No biggies. The Bluetooth connects right up. And it works really well.

I’m sick and tired of these companies changing their apps and now they want you and force you to make an account if you want to use the features of this device that you bought it for in the first place. I don’t want to create an account with this stupid company! If I can’t use the app and the device without giving all of my information and going on their mailing lists and letting them sell all of my information to other companies then I want nothing to do with them.

I have two of these and they are super easy to set up. I need to keep my humidity in a certain range for health reasons and this is so easy to read. Then when i go on trips in the winter, i have house plants that need to be kept warm. So i set up my temp range and then it will let me know on my cell phone if it goes out of range. Meaning i may have a furnace issue. It gives me peace of mind using the app on my phone.

I have been using this in my garage as a way to make sure it does not get below freeing during the winter.
The Bluetooth range is very week on this device. You have to be very close to it and proactively open the app to get an update.
My batteries died after about a year of use. When I replaced them, it would not give a read out and the app shows -560 degrees. I contacted support and they said the warranty was good for 12 months and since it had been 14, I would have to buy a new one.
So apparently the product is only meant to last one set of batteries.

This company needs access to location, for bluetooth… One time wouldn’t be a big issue. But no, it needs to stay on 24/7 for too to be able to use the app. How is that smart? If you shut off location, it requires you to reset it, which takes a few minutes, if you’re lucky. This is a severe security risk. I did read through the privacy stuff and it seemed okay, but no, you don’t need my location 24/7 to correct with what you already have. I have wireless speakers that cost 1000x this cheap thing and they needed location 1x. Get a grip. Stay FAR from govee. Terrible technology. The only positive is it seems to be relatively accurate.
Conrad Henderson –
The unit seems to be accurate in reading but so are hundreds of others.
My real problem is how horrible the entire system is. If they would spend as much time designing their user interface as they did in creating a social media they might have a good product.
I wouldn’t advise buying this product.
Nicole Stark –
The picture/ad says working temp is -4F to 140F but when the product arrived the spec sheet says the lower temp limit is 14F which will not work in my freezer!

Using this to monitor temperature in baby’s room.

Most smart home devices particularly Wi-Fi ones are quite flaky. This one was easy to set up and has worked perfectly for six months!
Nick Huntington –
Seems like the device generates its own heat and causes the temperature reading to be about 2 degrees above ambient. I tested this with 2 other thermometers.

After about a month, I’ve found this hygrometer to be accurate, and the thermometer to be the same. The readings update every few seconds.
The best part is the Bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to review temp and humidity over a period of time on my phone. This is extremely helpful when dealing with ambient temperature changes.
Highly recommended!

I was initially looking for a thermometer that work with Homekit but didn’t have a luck finding one without need for a hub. So I decided to go with this one. Very simple and accurate. I haven’t connected it to my phone.

Did not like it there is no Wi-Fi that will connect to it in this year to old so none of the Bluetooth works and it’s useless
Green Monkey –
This skips hours at a time (usually 4-8) at least 1-2 times per day. I don’t recommend.
